• Conversation data: Messages between you and your AI companion, stored to enable memory and personalisation.
• Usage data: Interaction counts, session frequency and feature usage to improve the platform.
• Payment data: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store card details.
• Device data: Browser type, IP address and device information for security purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide, maintain and improve the Friend in the Cloud platform.
• To personalise your AI companion’s responses over time.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To send essential account communications (never marketing without consent).
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. What We Never Do

• We never sell your personal data to third parties.
• We never use your conversations to train AI models without explicit consent.
• We never share your data with advertisers.
• We never read your private conversations for any purpose other than providing the service.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely via Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices and regularly review our systems.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data and conversations are permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and data.
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
• Objection: Object to certain types of processing.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Third-Party Services

• Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe’s privacy policy.
• OpenAI / Anthropic: AI responses. Messages are processed but not stored by these providers for our users.
• Supabase: Database hosting. Data stored in secure cloud infrastructure.
• Vercel: Platform hosting.

9. Children’s Privacy

Friend in the Cloud is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or platform notification.
